1. Core Structure and Working Principle

The belt right-angle transfer system is composed of a main conveying module, a right-angle transfer module (belt lifting/lateral transfer mechanism), a drive system, a sensor detection unit, a control system, and a frame protection structure. It is designed to achieve precise 90-degree material diversion in automated production lines and serves as a key device for converting linear conveying into perpendicular conveying in sorting, assembly, and logistics systems.

The main conveying module usually adopts a roller conveyor or belt conveyor as the infeed system to ensure stable material delivery into the transfer zone. The right-angle transfer module is the core functional unit, typically using synchronous belts, cross belts, or lifting belt structures. Through belt lifting, lateral movement, or cross-transfer mechanisms, materials are accurately transferred from the main conveying direction to a perpendicular conveyor line.

The drive system consists of a geared motor or servo motor, transmitting power through synchronous pulleys or rollers to ensure stable and controllable transfer motion. The sensor detection unit uses photoelectric sensors or vision systems to detect material position, spacing, and dimensions in real time, sending signals to the PLC control system.

The control system is based on an industrial PLC controller, supporting automatic recognition, cycle control, and system integration. It can be seamlessly connected with upstream conveyors, sorting systems, scanning systems, and warehouse management systems (WMS/MES). During operation, once materials enter the right-angle transfer zone, sensors detect their position and send signals to the control system. The system then triggers the belt lifting or lateral movement mechanism, completing a 90-degree transfer within a very short time and smoothly guiding materials into the side conveyor line, enabling continuous and efficient automated diversion.

1. High-Efficiency Right-Angle Transfer, Strong Cycle Compatibility

The system adopts a high-speed response drive system, with a single transfer cycle typically completed within 0.3–0.8 seconds, making it suitable for medium and high-speed conveyor lines. Compared with traditional pusher or mechanical diverter systems, belt right-angle transfer offers smoother motion and better continuity, effectively reducing waiting time and improving overall line efficiency. It is ideal for high-volume continuous production environments.

2. Smooth Material Handling, Low Impact Force

Belt conveying provides inherent flexible contact characteristics. During right-angle transfer, materials are evenly supported without rigid impact. In cross-belt or lifting belt structures, speed difference control and synchronized operation enable near-zero impact transfer, significantly reducing sliding, tipping, or surface damage. It is suitable for cartons, electronic products, food packaging, and lightweight containers.

3. High Positioning Accuracy, Low Sorting Error

With high-precision sensors and servo-driven systems, the positioning accuracy of the belt right-angle transfer system can reach within ±1.5 mm. The system automatically adjusts timing based on material size, preventing misalignment or missed transfers. This ensures high sorting accuracy, especially suitable for e-commerce logistics and automated distribution centers.

4. Compact Structure, High Space Utilization

The system adopts a modular and compact design with a small footprint, allowing direct integration into existing conveyor systems without major layout modifications. It is typically installed at conveyor intersections, enabling efficient L-shaped, U-shaped, or cross-shaped production layouts and optimizing warehouse space utilization.

5. Stable Operation, Low Maintenance Cost

Core components such as belts, rollers, motors, and bearings are standardized industrial parts with high interchangeability. Daily maintenance only requires belt tension adjustment, roller cleaning, and sensor inspection. The system features simple maintenance procedures and long maintenance cycles, making it suitable for long-term continuous operation with low operating costs.
