The double-chain accumulating roller conveyor is composed of six key modules: dual-sprocket roller units, double-chain transmission system, drive and tensioning mechanism, frame structure, accumulation control components, and sensing & electrical control system. The overall structure is rigid, highly stable, and designed for heavy-duty and high-frequency start-stop applications.
Each roller is equipped with sprockets on both ends, ensuring balanced force distribution during operation.
Roller tube materials typically include galvanized carbon steel, stainless steel, or heavy-duty rubber-coated rollers. Standard diameters are Φ50 / Φ60 / Φ75mm, with thickened wall construction and built-in heavy-duty bearings to ensure low rolling resistance and high impact resistance.
Standard roller pitch options include 75 / 100 / 150mm, and custom spacing is available based on product dimensions. The dual-sprocket design ensures synchronized force transmission on both sides, minimizing deviation and improving conveying stability.
The system uses a dual-row precision roller chain to drive both sides of the sprockets simultaneously.
Compared with single-chain systems, the double-chain structure distributes load more evenly, doubles load capacity, and ensures higher stability under frequent start-stop conditions. Power transmission is direct, with no slippage and excellent synchronization.
A chain tensioning device allows on-line adjustment, ensuring long-term transmission accuracy and operational stability.
The system supports two main accumulation modes:
Torque-Limiting Accumulation (Slip Type):
A built-in friction clutch inside the roller allows controlled slipping when a product is blocked. The roller stops while the chain continues running, enabling soft accumulation without damaging products or transmission components.
Stopper-Based Accumulation (Sensor-Controlled):
Pneumatic stoppers and photoelectric sensors are used to detect product arrival. Once triggered, the stopper lifts or blocks the product, enabling precise positioning and segmented operation control.
Both systems enable controlled buffering, staged release, and non-contact accumulation, suitable for synchronized assembly and process buffering lines.
The drive system typically consists of a gear motor with frequency conversion control. Power ranges from 0.2kW to 1.5kW, with conveying speeds adjustable from 0–25 m/min.
The frame is constructed from heavy-duty carbon steel or aluminum profiles, providing high rigidity and deformation resistance. Adjustable height design allows flexible integration with existing production lines. Side guides and guard rails can be added for enhanced stability during heavy-load operation.
Each roller can support 50–200kg depending on configuration. The system is suitable for pallets, automotive components, heavy-duty containers, and complete appliance units, making it ideal for medium to heavy-load conveying applications.
The dual-chain and dual-sprocket structure ensures synchronized movement without slippage. Positioning accuracy can reach ±1mm, meeting the requirements of precision assembly and alignment processes.
Both torque-limiting and stopper-based accumulation methods ensure smooth buffering without pressure buildup, preventing collisions and protecting fragile or high-value products.
Heavy-duty bearings and industrial-grade chains provide long service life. Maintenance is simple and mainly involves chain lubrication, tension adjustment, and periodic inspection of wear parts. Standardized components reduce downtime and replacement costs.
The system supports straight, curved, inclined, and multi-line configurations. It can be integrated with lifting transfer units, right-angle transfers, pneumatic pushers, scanning systems, and inspection modules to build complex automated production lines.
Widely used for engines, chassis parts, body components, tires, and assemblies. The system supports continuous 24-hour operation, high precision handling, and reduced manual labor, making it ideal for large-scale automotive production lines.
Suitable for pallets, large containers, and heavy cargo buffering and transfer. It can be integrated with AGVs, palletizers, and automated storage systems to improve warehouse efficiency and enable unmanned material flow.
Used for refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and other appliance assembly lines. It enables smooth transfer between assembly, testing, and packaging stations, supporting multi-model, small-batch production.
Custom versions are available for high-temperature, dusty, or humid environments. With sealed components and high-protection electrical systems, the equipment maintains stable performance in harsh industrial conditions.
Material Characteristics:
Determine product weight, size, and surface sensitivity. Light-duty applications use standard rollers, while heavy or fragile products require reinforced rollers or rubber-coated surfaces.
Line Layout Compatibility:
Consider elevation differences, line speed, and cycle time. High-precision and frequent start-stop applications are recommended to use servo-driven or high-accuracy accumulation control systems.
Environment and Safety:
Food, pharmaceutical, and cleanroom environments require stainless steel structures and hygienic-grade materials. Safety systems such as emergency stops and overload protection must be properly configured.
