Taking standard pallets as the storage unit, the system utilizes four-way shuttles to freely change layers and lanes in the AS/RS rack, cooperating with high-speed elevators and conveyor systems to realize the rapid inbound and outbound of full-pallet goods.

System Composition: Core Equipment and Architecture

1. High-speed Four-way Shuttle

Designed specifically for pallets, it adopts a servo drive and a lightweight frame, with an operating speed of up to 2-4m/s and an acceleration of 1-1.5m/s². The vehicle is equipped with high-precision laser ranging and inertial navigation, achieving a positioning accuracy of ±5mm. It has a built-in supercapacitor or fast-charging lithium battery, supporting on-the-go charging for continuous operation.

2. Pallet-type High-density Racks

Adopting a combined steel structure, the height of the racks is customized according to the pallet size. The depth of the storage location can be designed as single-deep, double-deep or multi-deep to improve storage density. A maintenance channel is reserved on the top of the racks for easy maintenance.

3. High-speed Vertical Elevator

It adopts a fork docking type or continuous elevator, with a lifting speed of up to 1-2m/s. Some systems use spiral elevators to realize continuous and uninterrupted vertical handling.

4. High-speed Conveyor System

Composed of high-speed roller conveyors, lifting transporters and other equipment, with a conveying speed of up to 1-1.5m/s, it connects the inbound port, outbound port, elevator and depalletizing/palletizing workstation.

Operational Process: High-speed Access Closed Loop

1. Inbound Process

After the goods are palletized, they are placed on the inbound conveyor line by forklifts or AGVs. The system scans the barcode or RFID, the WMS assigns the target storage location, and dispatches the shuttle to transport the pallet to the designated location. For high-frequency goods, the system can assign them to storage locations close to the inbound and outbound ports to shorten the handling distance.

2. Storage Strategy

The system supports multiple storage strategies such as random storage and fixed-location storage. It can automatically assign storage locations according to the attributes of the goods (such as category, batch, and expiration date), realizing First In First Out (FIFO) or First Expired First Out (FEFO). Through the inventory rearrangement function, the system can automatically sort out scattered storage locations and optimize storage space.

3. Outbound Process

After receiving the order, the WMS dispatches the shuttle to take out the target pallet, which is then sent to the outbound port through the elevator and conveyor line. For full-pallet outbound, it is directly connected by forklifts or AGVs; for split-case outbound, it can be sent to the depalletizing workstation for manual or robotic depalletizing.

4. Dynamic Inventory and Goods Sorting

The system can automatically dispatch vehicles to conduct periodic inventory of the warehouse area during idle time to ensure that the accounts match the actual inventory. Through the inventory rearrangement function, the system can automatically sort out scattered storage locations and improve space utilization.
